Wolfenstein

Hello Wolf fans,

I have seen lots of posts lately about gaming sites and different stores giving out release date info and I understand the problem you have with no confirmations coming from us at id. I don’t know where they got the information, but it wasn’t from us. We are working really hard with Raven on this game to make it the best it can possibly be. If I gave you a date and we went past that to make the game better, the disappointment from fans would be on me, and I don't want to risk lying to you all. id has been making games for more than 20 years and we are company that believes quality determines when a game is ready rather than an arbitrary date on a calendar.

The Wolfenstein community is very important to id, Raven and Activision. So much so, that they hired me to get the word out to you guys. In getting the word out, I can’t spill the beans on everything. We want you to get excited about the game, but if we told you everything about Wolfenstein at the last E3, there would be nothing to look forward to at this E3.

As of right now, the multiplayer is changing a lot. Endrant, Raven and id are throwing ideas back and forth and trying new things to see what works and what doesn't. The gameplay in Wolfenstein is giving all of us a chance to experiment with the multiplayer and find what feels like the best fit for the series. Since it is changing so often, I would hate to talk about something and not have it make the final product.

Once more things get finalized, the information will start to roll in. Right now we have a few things planned with different members of the development team that will allow you guys to see what is going on with Wolfenstein from the inside.

I know it can be hard waiting around for information, but please know that it is just as hard for us to withhold it. The harder we work, the sooner you guys will get to play it, and the sooner we can all enjoy Wolfenstein

as long as the game is released during 2009 ill be happy, its about every 8 or 9 years betweens Wolfs, so its on schedule imo.

Thanks for the info. I will try to be more patient. Doesnt matter if the release date falls all the way back to November, the exact same date as Modern Warfare 2. I WILL BE GETTING/PLAYING RTCW!!!
(But the summer is ideal because it will give people time to get hooked)

I'm sorry, I just gotta believe that after all this time, there are some solid answers to SOME of the questions asked in these forums, such as:

Are the servers ranked, or un-ranked (saying there is only one kind doesnt answer the question); will clans be able to operate their own dedicated servers, or will we be forced to procure them through Gameservers, or similar?

Iron sights in multiplayer, yes or no?...it's a simple question

Classes and armies...axis, allies, resistance? Lt, medic, engie, soldier? Surely the MP is evolved enough to answer.

MP Veil...most of us could give a rats **** if this is included; leave it out, and work on something else; if it's too late to drop it, tell us how it will work

Will there be beta testing, or a demo before it is released? Not asking when, just if.

System specifications...we need minimum and ideal specs so we know if our rigs will be up to the task. This is the most asked question by my clan members.

These are just the top questions. I have no doubt that some are not going to like the answers, and be ****...whatever...better than having EVERYONE **** because we can't get the answers to a few basic questions.

Very interesting info that MP is being tested.

Imo that could mean many things. Let me speculate (I like speculating)
- The devs want the best experience for "the players" (which ones, the causal play once a week or the addicts 4 hours a day players).
- The devs already know what works and what doesnt, but they are fine tuning it.
- The devs arent rtcw or et addicts, and have hired addicts to teach them what is considered "well polished" and "wanted" in etpro and rtcw osp.
- The devs arent addicts, but are weekend warriors, and will make the MP full or even overload of spam like in etqw. lol xD

Sry for the unserious speculation parts. Its bedtime hours ago.

Seeing MP being mentioned made my mood better when regarding Wolf.
