No you.re stuck at Wolf3D.....

or

There are MANY differences between these two generations of Intel CPU's. Most notably, Duo Core CPU's possess two processing cores opposed to the Pentium 4's single processing core. While a Duo Core CPU may be operating at a lower overall operating frequency, it is still much more powerful then a Pentium 4 considering it's improved FSB speed, cache size, multiple cores, efficiency, etc.

Btw what Processor do you have? Intel Dual-Core E2180 2.0GHz 1MB or? If so i would suggest you bought this one, that is even cheaper then the game: Intel Dual-Core E5200 2.5GHz 2MB

Strange that some are prepared to buy a game, but they cant afford half it would cost too uppgrade their Pc :s

I have no clue about Laptop preformance, have you tried "Can you run it" and selected ET:QW? http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

i give up....

in any case, i've run etqw on a T7250 (my last laptop), and it works fine, but like i said, you need a decent video card. the 256mb 9200m GS that came with it couldn't handle it too well, but it ran alright at medium settings with the draw distance of shrubbery etc turned down. 960x600 with 2x AA & 2x AF seemed to be the magic number, and didn't look any different from 1280x768 + 4x AA and 4x AF on my desktop (i couldn't tell you about 4:3 resolutions, as they're pretty much obsolete by now and no self-respecting fps gamer would be caught behind a 4:3 monitor). at least on a laptop you can turn the resolution down a bit without noticing it too much, though i guess in the end it's just down to the size of your screen. expect to need better hardware if you're running vista, thanks to DX10 and general resource hogging.

COD4 have 8GB aswell, i could play it without any problems what so ever with my old AMD 4000+, 2GB ram, GF 7800GTX 256mb. And that without any lagg in MP. I mean even sims3 have a diskspace of 6,5GB and not so much levels and gfx in that ;)

It all comes down too one thing only, in what resolution you have. For me, np i have a 19 inch so 1280x1024, i dont need a high end gfx card too be able to pull out some fps from a mid range card. The logic says if you have a 24 inch ofc you need a better gfx card, but thats just so logical.

HD space? who cares? hard drives are cheap (cheaper than games!), and the only difference they'll make is for content loading times. if you've got less than 300 gigs, then it's time to upgrade. even if you don't go SATA, storage usually ends up being a lot more important than speed. that's what RAM is for.

Am I right in thinking that the processor speed doesn't really matter as long as you have the minimum? The reason I say this is it has always been my perception that the video card carries the bulk of the system responsibilities, regarding games. However, I did read an article about Wolf that said something like the developers were trying to take advantage of multicore systems.

I have a single core 3800+ and while it does exceed the minimum specs I am worried that a multicore processor is needed for the game to run well at a high level.

Re: Wolfenstein PC Minimum Specs

long story short: if your pc's processor has the word "core" in it, be it "duo", "quad", "dodecahedron" or wtfever, then you're fine. stop worrying about GHz. same goes for AMD's multi-core lineup --

IF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE PROCESSORS AND A GFX CARD PURCHASED WITHIN THE LAST 4 YEARS THEN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RUN THIS GAME SO DON'T ASK STUPID QUESTIONS.

if you aren't sure what it is you're running (ie: "I bought a 'DELL', that's all i know about it) then buy this game for your XBOX.
